1.	The proper way to sing the Pingu theme.

1.	Cookies are always worth it.

1.	Daddy is the best thing ever.

1.	There’s nothing like your favorite show to calm down a “I Don’t Feel Good” tantrum.

1.	Mud puddles = worlds greatest fun.

1.	Just because YOU don’t know where it is, doesn’t mean I don’t know where it is.

1.	Mosquito bites look harsh, but they’re not that big of a deal.

1.	Always stay hydrated.

1.	Taking a shower is like a sprinkler, just indoors and warmer.

1.	Being fearless is the only way to go.

1.
I know at least two people that can tell me who said that. Can the rest of you?

I’ve decided something. Something very great, and very important. At least to our family.

I’ve decided that I’m fairly lazy. Yep. I am. I keep on the average housework, laundry, dusting, dishes, etc. But I walk around the random piles of clutter I’ve created, or see past the shelving that needs a bit of love and reorganization, or shield from my eyes that growing number of books that don’t have a home on our bookcases.

So today I’m going to start taking my Great Grandmother in to consideration-and I mean it this time. My mom always told me that she was one that was never without work. She was always busy with something. Even when she was done for the day with housework, her hands were busy knitting, mending, or crochet.

I know I’ve said this before. i am a hypocrite. What is it, it takes 56 times of doing something to make it a habit? Well 56 days from today is September 13th, let’s see how I do! I’m going to put up a ticker on my homepage to encourage me and remind me to keep at it!

Wish me luck!

Things to do when it’s hot outside
I like to have Nathan outside as much as possible. I’d rather him run around getting dirty then causing havoc inside my house. Or wanting to watch “INGU MOMMA INGU” (which is Nathan for May I please watch Pingu, Mother?) or “IPP!” (which is Nathan for May I please watch Kipper The Dog?).

But, its hot. It’s oh so hot. Hot enough to bake a cake. You feel like your insides are roasting shortly after stepping outside. Loading groceries into the car makes you sweat so much that you could fill a bathtub. SO, I don’t tend to take him outside much in the summer. Which is sad. If we had a pool, or knew somebody that we could crash that had a pool, I’d do it. Instead, I settle for taking Nathan to the play place at the mall. Below are some pictures of his latest antics. He’s not afraid to do anything, and is happy to play with or without others. He’s pretty cute to watch too. He runs all over the place and climbs onto everything. The only complaint I have with it is that the closest bathroom is inside of JC Penny at the back. If they could just put a one stall male/female bathroom right by that play place, I’m sure it’d make many a potty training mommy happy. It’s hard to explain to your child that you are leaving the play place to walk a mile to the potty but we’ll be back, and by the time we get back you’ll have to go potty again... Anyway...

I’m all for suggestions on other things to do when the heat is on. I know there is a gymnastic sport center somewhere in town that offers toddler time...but I don’t know where it is.

What do you do when the heat is enough to cook your insides? Especially with a toddler?

You know that scene in Monsters, Inc when Boo is at Sully’s apartment, and she is in his bed. She’s laughing and all the sudden she falls over asleep? I think that was Nathan tonight. He was quite riled up when we put him down, he giggled and moved a bit and then all the sudden it was quite. I was expecting him to crawl off and come to the door, but he didn’t. I peeked in shortly after it went quiet and he was passed out. But what’s more? It looked like he had been sitting and then just fell over sideways. Silly boy.

We did, indeed, take Nathan to church in big boy undies on Sunday. You should all insert wild cheering and applause here because he stayed DRY the ENTIRE time! We took him potty right before class, in between class and service, and then right after communion and right after service was done. Probably a little excessive, but we wanted to be sure. He even came home dry, and then went to lunch dry. He stayed that way until Uncle Rob decided to bounce him around... and you know it’s just hard to hold it when you just learned how and have a tiny bladder. But after that, he stayed dry the rest of the day! We’re so proud of him.

We took Nathan to see his first In-Theater movie today. We originally wanted to go on Saturday, without him, but then the mattress came and we got busy rearranging. We went to see The A-Team. He was pretty good. Got a little wiggly right at the beginning and right at the end, but for the most part he was very good. He even laughed at several of the action scenes. There was only one other person in the theatre besides us, so when he did start talking I didn’t feel TOO bad. :) While he enjoyed himself, I think, I know his favorite part was the MILK DUDS! I mean really, though, if that isn’t all of our favorite part, I don’t know what else could be. Haha.

Tomorrow, my friend C.C. is going in to have her 2nd BABY!! I’m so excited for them. It’s a girl and they haven’t told the name yet and I am extremely curious. Good Luck C.C.!!

Nathan’s vocabulary and cognitive reasoning has exploded. He can repeat after me and say his ABC’s. Count one-two-three-nine. Say Red, blue, green, black, and orange, and he even correlates them. He sings during the songs at church. He works the iPad, and our phones better then we do. He purposely goes onto Netflix (on both the iPad and the TV), and chooses his program. (It’s mostly Kipper the Dog that he likes.) He fake sleeps to trick us, and he likes to “Shh, hide” with Daddy so I have to find them. He can, and will, put things in their appropriate places. ie. the trash, the toy box, the laundry basket, etc. He can do his puzzles like a pro. And many other things. This kid is way too smart for his own good. The other day he brought me a block and handed it to me and pointed at the burnt in picture and said: Apple. And you know what the picture was, yeah, an apple. Sheesh.

Anyway, I’m going to go read because both boys are asleep and the dogs are fed. I SHOULD change out the dishwasher, but I don’t think i’m going to... heeheehee.

Well, we did it. We finally moved our 19 month old into a big boy bed. We debated and debated about how best to go about this. Do we buy a cheap metal frame and mattress/box spring? Do we go for a bunk bed and just a mattress? Do we buy his crib conversion kit and a mattress/box spring? Do we just buy a toddler bed?

We decided to go for the conversion kit and the mattress and box spring.

Well the mattress set arrived today (free delivery!) after we went shopping yesterday. We spent all afternoon working on Nathan’s room. it was quite time consuming. But we finally have it done. It really looks more like a bed room now then anything else. I’m quite impressed.

Sam is in there laying with him right now to get him to sleep, but our goal is to get him to soon just be able to go to sleep in it like he did his crib. No getting out of it, etc.

Here are pictures...

And tomorrow? We’re taking Nathan to church in big boy undies for the first time!!
